This is one of the most creative ways to showcase beach vacations. This simple idea is a great visual that displays the beach sand from all the locations visited.
LOTS OF BEACHES!
Normally, people like to memorialize beach vacations with beautiful pictures and video. One of my good friends does all of that but also adds a totally creative twist. She saves sand samples of every beach her family has visited. I counted approximately 170 beaches that were on her wall. That’s a lot of beaches! I also noticed that no two beaches were alike, a few had beautiful colors and the type of sand varied tremendously.

CREATIVE DISPLAY CASE
In order to showcase all the beaches, my friend had custom, wall-mounted display racks built. I suppose if you wanted to do it quicker and easier you could also use wall-mounted spice racks. Also, she purchased the bottles on Amazon.
IT’S AN AMAZING RESEARCH TOOL
My first impression was how awesome the display was for comparing all the beaches. I could easily find the beach with the whitest and darkest sand. I could also clearly identify beaches that had exotic sand colors and notice that some beach sand was more granular than others.
WHO HAS THE WHITEST SAND IN THE WORLD?
According to the beaches my friend showcased, the beaches with the whitest sand included Harbour Island, Siesta Key, St. Pete Beach, Clearwater Beach, Playa Del Carmen and Trunk Bay in the USVI. Of all of them, the whitest was actually Siesta Key. Siesta Key Beach truly does have the whitest sand in the world!

OTHER BEACH SAND OBSERVATIONS
A few other observations were Hawaii’s Big Island and Volcano Beach in Guatamala had the darkest sand, an unnamed beach in Spain had purple sand and Pink Sands Beach in Harbour Island had pink sand. Below is a picture of another way to showcase beach sand.

TRAVEL CONSIDERATIONS
Some countries make it uncomfortable to take sand due to local laws and regulations. As a result, there were a handful of beaches that my friend visited that she didn’t take the sand. Consequently, that led her an organization called the “International Sand Collection Society” based out of Lilburn, GA. They furnished her with samples of some of the beach sand that she couldn’t get on her own. It costs $12/year to be a member.
I hope the info contained in this blog post inspires you to create your own display to showcase your beach vacations.
