My favorite beach and boating location in the Ft. Myers area is Lover’s Key State Park. A picturesque beach and convenient boat ramp make it tough to beat.

BEAUTIFUL SPOT

I was introduced to this island during a guided fishing trip I took a few years ago. After that trip, I knew Lover’s Key was a place I wanted to explore further. What makes the island so nice is the unspoiled beach, the scattered dead trees at the shoreline and the interior kayak trails. In addition, the shorelines inside the passes to the north and south are equally beautiful.

ACCESS BY LAND OR SEA

Lover’s Key can easily be accessed by car or boat. If traveling by car you’ll enter the main park entrance and enjoy all the amenities the park has to offer. If traveling by boat or trailering your boat, you’ll want to launch on the eastern side of the park entrance and explore from there. The best shorelines for boating are the northern shoreline, inside Big Carlos Pass, the northern tip of the island by the dead trees or inside of New Pass to the south.

CONVENIENT LOCATION

Lover’s Key is located in between Ft. Myer’s Beach and Bonita Beach. Its location make it convenient to the entire Ft. Myer’s area and is also in a perfect location for boating in Estero Bay or at a local sandbar.

SUPERB BOAT RAMP

Of all the boat ramps I’ve visited, the ramp at Lover’s Key is one of the best. Ramp condition, calm conditions, convenient location, plenty of parking, small usage fee, on-site restrooms and even a bait & tackle store make this tough to beat.
