Back Street Beach

Hopetown, Bahamas

One of the nicest Hope Town beaches is beautiful, Back Street beach.  Located just south of the Hope Town Harbour Lodge Beach, Back Street Beach is essentially, the same beach but offers much more privacy and has even more of a tropical feel to it.

HOW TO FIND IT

The easiest way to visit the beach is to walk south on Back St. (the upper road) from the Hope Town Harbour Lodge.  After walking about a 1/10th of a mile the road will bend to the left and take you directly to the beach access.

SECLUSION

Back St. beach doesn’t have any amenities like the lodge’s beach but it does have a better tropical feel with much more privacy.  If you want seclusion then this beach is it!  Another awesome thing about this beach is the token, lone coconut palm tree angled over the sand.  Talk about living the dream!

If you get the chance to visit Hopetown and want to have total seclusion, make sure to visit Back Street beach for an amazing lazy location!

HURRICANE DORIAN UPDATE

Back Street Beach is located on Elbow Cay in the settlement of Hope Town.  This area took the brunt of Hurricane Dorian and has been transformed, to say the least.  The good news is Back Street Beach doesn’t have any identifying structure (except for the lone coconut palm on the beach).  Therefore, it should be fine but I haven’t verified it yet.
