Anna Maria Island

Manatee County, FL

Anna Maria Island is one of the nicest and most quaint beach towns in all of Florida.  In addition, its’ beaches and boating locations are world-class.

LOCATION

Anna Maria Island is located at the southern side of the mouth of Tampa Bay.  It’s north of Longboat Key and south of St. Petersburg. It is also situated in the heart of some of the most beautiful boating destinations on the West Coast of Florida.  Those destinations include Egmont Key, Bunces Pass, Passage Key, Jewfish Key, Beer Can Island (North Longboat Key), and Sarasota.

BEAUTIFUL BEACHES

The combination of white sand, crystal-clear, warm water, and calm conditions make Anna Maria’s beaches world-class.  They are perfect for visiting by land or sea and are perfect for anchoring the boat and spending the day.

LOW KEY

One of my favorite traits of this area is how low key and laid back it is.  I absolutely love it!  There are no high-rises,  no chain hotels and lots of natural vegetation and foliage.  There’s also a nice mix of people who are young and old and the area is great for families too.

ANOTHER AMAZING PLACE TO VISIT IN FLORIDA

MAJOR CHARM

Anna Maria Island is definitely at the top of the list as far as most charming beach towns in all of America.  The architecture consists mostly of updated beach cottages and Florida-style designs.  You’ll find lots of lapboard siding and metal roofs and most homes are set amongst coconut palms and tropical vegetation.  Even the downtown (if you want to call it that) looks more like a back road in Key West than a typical “downtown”.  The shops are equally charming and the restaurants are as well.

I utilize the service and benefits of Boat U.S.  They are a great organization that every boater should consider. You should too.  Click HERE to learn more.
