The future of immersive, VR travel is well on its way to being widely accepted. Oculus and travel innovators should lead the way. Recently, I attended Facebook’s annual VR event called, “Oculus Connect”. It was an eye-opening event that provided me with a window to the future of travel.
WHO IS OCULUS?
Oculus is a company that manufactures virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, Oculus is owned by Facebook and leads the industry in its field. Not only are they pioneering in their hardware, they are also pioneering in revolutionary technology like hand-tracking, spatial mapping, neural interface technology, avatar development, social vr and enterprise vr for business.

WHAT THE FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE
Imagine wearing a comfortable pair of glasses and transporting to your favorite beach or boating location anywhere in the world. There, you can walk the beach, physically, pick up items and learn about the location, its amenities, and other cool things. Furthermore, you’ll be able to share it with a friend or family member by actually, experiencing it together — real-time, complete with life-like appearances (avatars) of each other that behave similar to real life. Amazing! And a complete transformation of the travel industry as we know it today.
