Kings Landing is one of the most beautiful places to visit. Located near Orlando, you can rent a kayak explore “Old Florida”.
KINGS LANDING
Kings Landing is a paddlesport rental operation that is located on Rock Springs Run. Kings Landing rents canoes and kayaks, and also allows people to launch their own craft. Only non-motorized vessels are allowed on the river. They include kayaks, canoes and standup paddle boards. Rental rates range from $49 to $69 and self launches cost $10. Also, parking is free and along the road outside the entrance.
ANOTHER AMAZING PLACE TO SEE “OLD FLORIDA”
THE RIVER
Rock Springs Run is the main attraction. The river is approximately 9 miles long and originates next door at Kelly Park. You have two options when visiting the river. The “Day Paddle” or the “Shuttle Run”. The Day Paddle is the most popular and allows you four hours to enjoy the river and return back on your own. The Shuttle Run is a 8 mile paddle with the current and ends at the Wekiva River at Wekiva Island.
THE BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best time to visit is definitely during the warmer months and preferably during the dry season (Spring & Fall). The reason is because the river is so inviting you’ll want to swim in the crystal clear water. Also, the year round, 70 degree water temperature feels amazing in the hot Florida sun. Once, I visited in late summer after tons of rain and the water clarity was terrible. You definitely want to see this river at its’ best!
