Tahiti Beach
Elbow Cay, Bahamas
One of my favorite places to visit of all time is Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas. It’s a very popular spot for boaters who want to drop the anchor, relax and get a way from it all.
TAHITI-LIKE COCONUT PALMS & CRYSTAL WATER
Located at the southern end of the island, Tahiti Beach is special because of its picturesque tropical beach, towering coconut palms and gin-clear water. It’s a favorite place for boaters who want to swim in the crystal-clear water, sip a tropical drink and enjoy the tropical life. It’s also great for families because the shallow water and tidal pools are fun for the kids and equally relaxing for parents. Additionally, Tahiti Beach is great because it’s easy to reach and convenient to just about everything.
FLOATING BAR & GRILL
Tahiti Beach is the kind of place that begs for a tropical drink so make sure to visit the Thirsty Cuda floating bar & restaurant that’s normally anchored at the sandbar. They serve food, drinks and stuff for the kids. It’s awesome!
If you are visiting the area by air and looking for a nice place to stay, I recommend the Hope Town Harbour Lodge or Hope Town Hideaways (depending on if you want to rent a house or stay in a hotel).
BOAT RENTALS
If you need to rent a boat check out Island Marine or Sea Horse boat rentals. Renting a boat is a must when visiting Hope Town!
HOW TO GET HERE BY GOLF CART
If you don’t have a boat you can still visit Tahiti Beach. The way to get there by foot is to drive a golf cart to the Dorros Cove community dock. From there, you’ll walk along the water until you see a forest of tall, coconut palm trees and numerous boats anchored up. You can’t miss it! Once there, relax on the beach or in the beautiful water and tidal pools. You’ll feel like you’re…well, in Tahiti!
Make sure to visit Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay in the Bahamas. It’s an amazing lazy location!
HURRICANE DORIAN UPDATE
Elbow Cay and Tahiti Beach were hammered by Hurricane Dorian. Tahiti Beach is still there but the sandbar has shifted and the beautiful, towering coconut palms are mostly gone. I’d like to begin an effort to replant the trees and vegetation so if anyone can help or has connections that would be very appreciated.
