Little Talbot Island Beach

Jacksonville, FL

Little Talbot Island has a beautiful beach and is an amazing place to visit in the Jacksonville area.

LOCATION

Little Talbot Island is part of the Florida State Park system and is situated between Mayport and Amelia Island.  Its location is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled areas in all of Florida.  The park is an easy and picturesque drive from Mayport via ferry and and an equally easy and beautiful drive from Fernandina Beach.  Other nearby, amazing islands are Big Talbot and Amelia.

HERE’S ANOTHER GREAT PLACE TO VISIT JUST MINUTES AWAY

BEACH

The beach is unspoiled and big and has a lot of the same characteristics of other North Florida beaches.  The sand is soft near the dunes but very hard-packed the closer you get to the water. The water is milky with silt and darker brown in color but very pleasant and there is constant surf.  The main draw to Little Talbot Island is it’s “Old-Florida” feel, uncrowded beach and plentiful amenities.

MY FAVORITE FLORIDA STATE PARK SO FAR

AMENITIES

Being that Little Talbot Island is a State Park, there are amenities galore.  The park offers showers, restrooms, water fountains, numerous pavilions for cookouts and parties, camp sites, a playground and many more.  The cost is $5 to enter the park and there are no lifeguards. Nearby, you’ll find great restaurants, just minutes away, in either Jacksonville and Amelia Island Plantation.
