Kings Landing

Apopka, FL

Kings Landing on Rock Springs Run is one of the most beautiful places in Florida. This Kayaking oasis is a place you definitely need to visit.

INSANE BEAUTY

This picturesque, crystal clear river, winds through incredibly dense forest and has one of the best “Old Florida” feels anywhere. In order to see the best part you’ll want to turn right after leaving the kayak launch. The epicenter of beauty is the “Emerald Cut” where the river widens slightly and there are a few large trees in the middle. It’s a fantastic place to beach the kayak and swim. In order to see the clearest water you’ll want to visit Kings Landing on Rock Springs Run during periods of minimal rain. It also gets very crowded so visiting on a weekday is also recommended.

THE RIVER/RUN

The river is actually a freshwater spring run that originates about two miles away at Kelly Park. The spring head consists of a limestone cavern that pumps out over 37 million gallons of water daily. That water flow creates the river current and continues for nine miles where it merges with the Wekiva River.

THE 911 ON VISITING

Kings Landing on Rock Springs Run is easy to find. Continue on Baptist Camp Road until the road ends. You’ll easily see all the cars parked along the road as you near the entrance. In order to visit Kings Landing and rent a kayak or canoe, you’ll need to make a reservation and sign a waiver online. There are specific time slots that you can reserve. This is a new procedure recently implemented. Rental prices range from $49 to $69 or you can save money and bring your own kayak or SUP.
